I've spent most of my life raising money for politicians and organizing grassroots public policy campaigns. When I owned my own business I woke up one day wondering if there was more to life and if I wanted to do what I was doing for the rest of my life. A friend gave me the book “Half-time”; it talked about moving from success in business to significance in Kingdom building. My wife and I sold our business and moved to Omaha as missionaries with Christ For the City. Today, I’m hoping to change the life-trajectory of a handful of Christ Followers. After 16+ years as a church pastor, I began serving with Urban Plunge and as the Des Moines CFCI base director in 2010. I love my work in helping the faith community better connect with the needs of the poor and disadvantaged. Helping churches and individuals address the needs of “the least of these”(Matthew 25) is my passion and purpose here in Iowa’s state capital.

I moved to Sioux Falls to attend seminary in 2009. I interned three years prior to that with an inner-city church in Winnipeg, MB. I knew that God was doing something with the combination of these two things, but it wasn't until I moved into the Summit House as part of my education that I really saw God's gift in me to connect His people with His ministries. When I got introduced to Christ for the City International and Urban Plunge, I saw a place where connections are a great thing. Today I am a seminary graduate, pastor, educator, wife, and a connector of people. How can I connect you today?

For nearly twenty years, I served as a Youth & Family Minister with a passion for servant events and mission trips. When we moved to Lincoln seven years ago, God led me in a totally different direction – working as Religious Coordinator at the Nebraska State Penitentiary. After seeing their difficult situations – poverty, broken homes, abuse & addictions – I searched for ways to prevent incarceration and help hurting people. Now leading Urban Plunges through Christ For the City International, I connect caring Christians with agencies and ministries in Lincoln reaching out to those in need.
